 Our History
Our church is named in honor of our city's founder, Dr. JVB Flack.  In 1881 in what others considered an uninviting, obscure, apparently worthless section of Clay County, Missouri, the first of several mineral water springs was discovered hidden away among high weeds.  After discovering the great mineral medical value of these mineral waters Dr. Flack formed a partnership with A. W. Wyman to lay out a town called Excelsior Springs.

Dr. Flack was a passionate evangelist and church planter.  On page 107 of the life history of Dr. JVB Flack, Dr. Flack tells that during his days of ministry that he personally conducted over 200 revival meetings, personally witnessed over 10,000 conversions and planted over 150 churches.

One hundred twenty six years later we are busy carrying on his legacy of declaring the same message of how lives are forever changed in a life fully devoted to following Jesus Christ.  The story of the founding of our city reminds us that hidden away in the obscurity of many peoples lives is something that could be used to bless so many others if only discovered.  An important part of our ministry at Flack Memorial is to help you find that gift that God gave you so you can use it for His glory and the benefit of others.
